The Mint 400 – What You Need to Know

The Mint 400 is coming up in just a few weeks, attracting racers and spectators from across the country. Today, we’re going to discover everything you need to know about the Mint 400 to help plan your visit to Las Vegas this March.

History of the Mint 400

The Mint 400 was created by race director Norm Johnson, who oversaw the event from 1967 until 1974. It started as a publicity event, but soon became the largest off-road race in North America. The race was a public relations stunt for the Mint Hotel, which hosted an annual deer hunt. However, it soon became a popular event that attracts visitors and racers from across the country. The race continued until 1988, when it took a 20-year break. It’s now been back for quite a few years, and we can’t wait to see it again this March in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Why Do They Call It The “Mint 400”?

The Mint 400 is named after the Mint Hotel, who hosted the original race as a publicity stunt. Del Webb’s Mint Hotel and Casino was located in downtown Las Vegas and was the inspiration for the race’s name.
